Here are some of the highlights from last summer's leadership program.
CIT campfires:
Session 1 & 2: There were eleven campers participating in the CIT/LIT 3 program in the first half of the summer, and with such a large group, the expectations were high for the second session opening campfire! These expectations were shattered when Gru and his minions descended upon Lower Mosquito with plans to shrink Camp Foley into oblivion. The highlight of Camp Foley’s own version of Despicable Me was when camp showed Gru just how much Foley means to everyone. In the end, much to our relief, he agreed not to use his shrink ray on camp.

Session 3 & 4: The CITS had dreams of becoming Disney princesses, and the fourth session opening campfire saw those dreams come to life when Snow White, Belle, Cinderella, and the evil stepsister arrived for “The Bachelor: Lower Mosquito.” Everyone loved watching as all of the princesses made Prince Charming a “love potion” from a variety of old kitchen ingredients. Even though there were some tricks and sorcery involved, the love of camp prevailed when Prince Charming selected Cinderella as the winner.
Big Camp Events - LIT Lead
Session 1 & 2: This year, the LIT program went from 12 participants during first session to 24 during second! No matter the number, both groups did a fantastic job with all tasks they were assigned. First session planned a Disney-themed morning of activities complete with relays, races, and large-field games. Second Session planned a morning of Finding Nemo-themed activities, and the highlight was games on the water mat. The LIT IIs who stayed four weeks were also responsible for preparing evening activities for the 4th of July. Everyone loved participating in pie-eating contests, marshmallow white-house construction, and chalk-drawing competitions!
