We are very near done hiring our fantastic summer staff for 2013! We will be adding a few more but here are the majority!
Kathryn A - returns to Foley for her 3rd summer as a Foley staff member! She will back at the lake teaching Skiing/Wakeboarding, Diving and helping out at the swimdock. Kathryn is finishing up her senior year at Marquette University and is currently applying to graduate schools, seeking a degree in counseling.
Kylie B – a camper for 11 + years, Kylie will be with us for her second stint as a counselor this summer. She will be instructing in Skiing and Sailing, working as a Marina Leader and will be responsible for some of the delicious creations from the camp kitchen! Kylie is completing her sophomore year at Curry College in Milton, MA where she plays basketball while pursuing her Nursing degree.
Zontae B - will be a first time Foley staff member this summer. Zontae is currently in his freshman year at Southern Illinois University where he is majoring in Psychology and Musical Theater. Zontae is excited to bring some of that expertise to the drama program as well as help out with some of the janitorial jobs and lifeguarding around camp.
Clayton B - is headed to Foley for his first summer! Clayton is currently a sophomore at U of W Stevens Point where he is majoring in Web Design and Digital Media. Clayton is really excited to be able to pass on his passions for Paintball and Lacrosse this summer as well as help out with some biking.
Matt C - will be embarking on his second summer as a Foley counselor, after spending 6 summers with us as a camper! Matt developed a passion for theater and film in high school, and will be instructing Video class as well as Sailing while at camp. Matt is currently a sophomore at the University of San Diego studying communications with a focus in media studies.
Claire C - will be a first time Foley counselor after 8 summers as a camper. Claire is the 4th kid in her family to work at Foley and she is excited to bring her energy (and Skipper skills) to the lake to teach sailing as well as up to paintball where is going to be working as a Ref. Claire is currently in her freshman year at the University of Iowa majoring in Engineering.
Nick C - is headed to Foley for his first summer! Nick has spent the last 4 years in the Marine Corps and is headed to college in the fall most likely in Madison, WI. He is excited to come to Foley to teach Riflery and be a Trip Leader (helping with both day and 3-day trips for canoeing and biking).
Mary Claire C - is headed back to camp for her 3rd summer on staff (and her 10th summer overall). MC will of course be back at the lake driving ski boats and helping out with windsurfing. She also is excited about planning one of those great banquets that everyone loves so much. MC is currently a senior at the University of Denver majoring in Spanish and Communications.
Ally D - will be a first time counselor this summer after 10 years of being a camper and two weeks as an Octo Intern. Ally is currently in her freshman year at the University of New Orleans majoring in elementary education. At camp she will be teaching Fencing and Archery. While a camper at camp, Ally was an ace fencer, even defeating the staff on occasion!
Michael D - will be a first time counselor after 6 summers as a camper. Michael is really in to music and will be helping out with guitar and drumming as well as with his favorite activity as a camper - climbing. He has also volunteered to help out with Horseback Riding. Michael is currently working in Chicago, IL after going to school in his hometown of Las Vegas, NV for a couple years!
Alex D - will be a first time counselor at Foley this summer and is excited to get back (he was a camper for 5 summers). Alex is currently a Freshman business major at Boston College. He is excited to pass on his Sailing and Waterskiing skills down at the Marina as well as help out as a Marina Leader!
Joe D - will be spending his 11th summer at Foley (9 as camper and last summer on staff). Joe will be back to help create great shop projects (word on the street is the derby car race is back) as well as jumping bikes at Biking. Joe is currently a freshman at Blinn College in Texas.
Rachel G. – was a Foley camper for 7 years and is joining us this summer as a second year counselor. She will be instructing in Tennis and Archery as well as helping out with Janitorial duties here at camp. Rachel is from St. Louis, and is currently attending Texas Christian University in Fort Worth where she is a sophomore education major.
Pat G - is excited for his first summer on the Foley staff after spending 7 summers as a camper. Pat is currently a sophomore at Colorado State in Fort Collins and is majoring in Geology. Pat will be down at the Marina teaching Waterskiing/Wakeboarding and Fishing as well as helping out as a Marina Leader.
Sarah G - will be joining the Foley staff for her first summer. Sarah was a camper with us for 8 summers and worked as an Octo last summer. Sarah is excited to get out on the water and help campers learn to Sail and Waterski/Wakeboard. She will also be using her expertise to train the Octos and Dishwashers! Sarah is currently finishing her senior year at Judge Memorial High School in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Chase G - will be heading up to camp for his first time this summer. Chase is excited to put some energy in to Shop and Biking at camp and perhaps spread his love of running around. Chase is currently a Freshman at Augsburg College in Minnesota where he is on the Track and Cross Country teams and is studying to be a High School Biology teacher.
Alex H - is on his way to Foley for his first summer. Alex is currently working as an after school program manager at a recreation center with kids aged 12-19. Alex is excited to get out on the lake to teach waterskiing and wakeboarding as well as bring kids out for all those great early morning fishing excursions.
Peter H - is headed back to camp for his first summer on staff. Peter was a camper at Foley for 10 years and also did two weeks as an Octo Intern. Currently Peter is a freshman at the University of Southern California. Peter will be heading up the Journalism program at Foley this summer and hopes to help campers create those great newspapers as well as helping out with sports and Archery.
Courtney K - will be joining us for her second summer as a Foley staff member. Courtney fell in love with sailing at Camp Foley during her 9 years as a camper. She taught Sailing for two summers in Minneapolis, before joining the Foley crew last summer. She is on the Marquette University sailing team where she is a sophomore majoring in Marketing. At camp, Courtney will be a Marina Leader and teaching Sailing and Lacrosse!
Emilia K - after spending 11 summers at Foley as a camper, Emilia will be back this summer as a second year counselor! She is in her third year of college at University of California, Berkeley, studying Economics and Spanish. Emilia enjoys her involvement with her school’s Rally Committee. Watch for Emilia this summer down at the Marina, teaching Windsurfing and working as a Marina Leader.
Tessa L – will be a second year counselor who spent 8 summers with us! Tessa will bring her energy to instruct our campers in Climbing and Paintball. She joins us from Colorado where she is a sophomore at the University of Colorado at Boulder, studying clinical Psychology and dabbles in real estate.
Nick M - will be a first time counselor this summer. Nick is currently a Junior at Creighton University where he is majoring in Journalism and Graphic Design and is spending the spring studying in Ireland. Nick will be helping in the kitchen a little bit as well as teaching crafts and doing some of our videoing.
Melissa M - will be back for her 2nd summer as a Foley counselor. Melissa is excited to try out some new dishes in the camp kitchen, help create those fantastic banquet menus as well as run everyone to the ground in Running Clinic and Zumba. Melissa is finishing up her senior year at Cal Poly where she is majoring in Nutrition.
Katie M – will be back at Foley for her 3rd summer as a counselor! Katie, who was also a camper for 6 summers, will be instructing in Crafts and Archery, and heading up the Janitorial department at camp. She is enjoying her sophomore year at Creighton University, located in her hometown of Omaha, NE.
Molly M – will be joining us for her second summer as a counselor after spending 9 summers with us as a camper. Molly will be teaching Climbing and Drama at Foley this summer. Her passion is Drama, and she will draw on her varied experiences for the Foley productions she and our campers will partake in. Molly is a sophomore at Creighton University in Omaha, NE where is pursuing a BFA in musical theater.
Zac M - will be joining us as a 2nd year counselor this summer. He will be instructing in Nature, reffing at Paintball, and helping keep the facilities sparkling clean! Zac is from Sauk Rapids, MN, and is currently a junior attending North Dakota State University in Fargo, majoring in Veterinary Technology.
Evan O. – will be back this summer as a third year counselor! A Foley camper for 6 summers, Evan will be helping out as a Paintball Specialist and with the Riflery program this year. Evan is from Minnesota, and attends the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he is in his sophomore year, studying Optical Sciences and Technology.
Parker P – will be back at Foley this summer (after spending 7 summers with us as a camper), as a second year counselor! She will put her creativity to good use working with our campers on their Craft projects, and will also teach Tennis. Parker grew up mostly in New Orleans, but spent her last two years of high school in California. She is currently in her second year at Boston College.
Chris R - is headed back to Foley for his first year a counselor. Chris was a camper for 10 summers, an Octo Intern in 2011 and is currently in his Freshman year at Notre Dame where he is majoring in business. Chris will be helping out with some of the Janitorial work around camp as well as with Shop and Nature.
Claire R - will be back for her first summer on the Foley staff after being a camper for 11 years. Claire is currently in her freshman year at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI where she is majoring in Spanish and English. At camp, Claire will be helping out with Archery, Guitar and maybe some Drama.
Jack R – will be back at Foley for his second stint as a counselor. Jack, a 3rd generation Foley camper, spent 8 summers here honing his skills in Riflery and Archery – that is where you will find him this summer – passing his knowledge and expertise on to more campers! Jack is from Minneapolis, and is currently a sophomore at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus.
Margi S - will be a first time counselor! Margi was a camper for five summers before taking the last few years off. She is excited to get back to Foley and head down to the lake to teach Snorkeling, help out with some tripping excursions and Swimming classes. Margi is currently in her junior year at St. Louis University but has also been going to school in Spain.
Annie S - can't wait to join us at camp for her first summer! Annie is currently a sophomore at Lake Forest College in Illinois where she is majoring in Communications and Psychology. Annie is going to be out on the Tennis courts this summer as well as helping out with some of the random Trip and Outdoor Skills classes.
Sara T - is headed to Foley for her first summer on staff. Sara was a camper for nine summers and is excited to get back to camp. Sara will be helping out down at the lake teaching sailing and up on land at the climbing tower. Sara is currently a freshman at Iowa State University where she is majoring in design.
Berns V - will be back for his third summer on staff and his ninth overall. Bernardo is from Monterrey, Mexico and is a huge help with all of our campers from Mexico. He will be teaching some Trap, Riflery and Paintball (perhaps some Archery and Climbing as well). Berns is currently going to school and working full time in Monterrey!
Rachel W - who spent 5 summers with us as a camper, is headed back to Foley as a 3rd year counselor! Rachel is a junior at North Dakota State University, with a pre-med focus. She will be back at Climbing and the Rifle range again this year, and will help us out as the Dining Room Coordinator!
Eric W – will be spending his 3rd summer with us as a counselor! This summer, Eric will be a Swimdock Leader, and will be instructing in Swimming and Snorkeling as well as helping out with the CITs and LITs. Eric is from Kansas and is currently a junior, attending the University of Kansas in Lawrence. He is planning to major in Political Science!
