Meet the Staff Print E-mail

We have started our hiring for 2010!  Here are the first staff that are all signed up for next summer!  We will continue to add on to the list as we hire more people.  Be sure to bug your favorite counselors from last year to return to camp and if you know any 19-25 year olds that would make a good counselor send them our way!

Kathryn A will be a first time counselor at Foley this summer!  Kathryn is currently a freshman at Marquette University in Wisconsin where she is majoring in Sociology and Social Welfare.  Kathryn will be driving ski boats this summer as well as teaching the high flying diving classes.  Kathryn has spent lots of time out on the lake, so she is looking forward to her summer at Foley!

Frank B is coming back to Foley for his 2nd summer on staff!  Frank will once again be heading out on all those great Biking trails to head up our Mountain Biking program as well as working up at the Paintball fields.  Frank is from a small town outside of Amsterdam and is studying to work with people with special needs.  Last summer Frank also taught some great speed skating classes, a passion that most of Holland shares!

Caitie B is headed back to Foley for her 2nd full summer on staff (she helped out for a few weeks the summer before).  In addition to being a counselor last summer, Caitie was also a camper for 4 years.  She is currently a sophomore at the University of Kansas where she is majoring in Psychology.  Caitie will be back at the waterfront this summer helping with Waterskiing and Mango Sailing.

Reid C will be back at Foley for his first summer as a counselor after being a camper for six summers.  Reid is currently a freshman at the University of Wisconsin - Madison where he is majoring in Engineering Mechanics.  He will be passing on his love for Riflery this summer as well as reffing Paintball.  As a camper Reid earned many of his Riflery awards so he will be a great asset to the program!

Caitlin C will be joining us all the way from Upland, CA for her first summer as a Foley counselor. Caitlin is currently a freshman at University of California, Berkeley studying Society & the Environment and History. During the summer, you will be able to find Caitlin encouraging kids over at the climbing wall, instructing at the new sling shot range, and helping out in the kitchen doing some food service.

Taylor C is elated to be returning to camp for her 8th summer and her 2nd year as a counselor instructing in Riflery and Crafts.  Taylor will be living with the oldest girls in Tekawitha for the first 4 weeks and then bringing her love of camp to the youngest girls for the 2nd half of the summer.  New for Taylor this summer will be working with the LITs and CITs as the Leadership Program Co-Coordinator.  Taylor is attending Boston College and is majoring in English Communications.

Gaby D is saying “Yes” to her 12th summer at Foley and her 2nd year as counselor instructing in Sailing and Water Skiing.  Gaby will also be taking on some more leadership at the waterfront.  Gaby will be living with the 12 and 13 year old girls this summer.  She is attending Boston College majoring in History and is currently studying in Rome this semester and then off to Spain after the holidays.

Mike F will be a first time counselor this summer!  Mike is currently a freshman at Creighton University in Omaha where he is still trying to figure out what he wants to major in.  Mike is on his college's cross country team and will be heading up the Running Clinic (running club) at camp!  He also will be down at the waterfront working as a lifeguard and canoe instructor!

Jessie G can choose to be inducted into the Hall of Fame this summer as it will be her 10th year at Foley and her 2nd year as a counselor.  Jessie is excited about creating some new programs that will be conducted at the Swim Dock and, of course, Drama!  Jessie will be living with the 11 year old girls.  She is in her 2nd year attending Skidmore College in upstate New York.

Sophie G - will be a first time staff member in 2010! Sophie will be very busy this summer instructing in Yoga, Crafts and bringing campers to Horseback Riding.  She will also be helping out in the kitchen doing food service.  Sophe is currently a Junior at Wake Forest in North Carolina where she is majoring in Elemntary Education.

Kyle H - is headed back to camp for his 2nd summer!  Kyle will be back to teach Sailing (mostly working with the JY-15 classes) and work as a Marina Leader.  He will also be helping out with some of our special events, especially with making all the sweet decorations!  Kyle is currently a freshman at Oklahoma State University where he is majoring in Elementary Education.

Justin K is returning as his 2nd year as a Foley counselor instructing in Riflery, Climbing, and Woodskills.  Justin will be returning to work with our younger boys as a cabin counselor.  He will also be working in Food Service to help create those awesome meals!  Justin is attending St. Cloud State and is majoring in Psychology and Aviation Operations.

Natalie L is on her way to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as this is her 10th summer at Foley and her 2nd year as a counselor and will be instructing in Archery.  New for Natalie this summer will be using her artistic abilities in the Crafts program.  She will be a cabin counselor for the 10 year old girls.  Natalie is attending Cornell College in Iowa majoring in Studio Art.

Sheelagh M will be a first time counselor at Foley this summer!  Sheelagh is currently a freshman at Michigan State University where she is majoring in Elementary Education.  Sheelagh will be heading up our Nature program as well as hanging out at the waterfront with Canoeing and Snorkeling.

Jeff M will be back to Foley for his first year as a counselor after being a camper for four years.   As a first year student at University of Richmond in Virginia, Jeff is working toward a Mathematical Economics and International Studies degree.  He will be putting his Waterskiing and Tennis skills on the lake and on the court.

Dustin M is coming back for his 2nd year as a Foley counselor and will be living with the 13 and 14 year old boys.  He will be instructing in Riflery as he did last year and Shop for the first time.  Dustin has experience with tools and projects from his educational program and over 200 hours with Habitat for Humanity.  Dustin is in his 3rd year at St. Cloud State majoring in Technology Education.

Aaron N has found a 2nd home at Foley as he returns for his 4th year as a counselor, his 4th year instructing in Riflery and Tennis and his 4th year living with the 11 and 12 year old boys.  Aaron is currently attending Northwestern College and is majoring in History – also in his 4th year.  Aaron is looking at 4 new twists for Riflery, 4 new twists for Tennis and 4 new twists in his cabin!

Kai P will be arriving at camp for his 12th year and his 2nd year as a counselor instructing in Tennis and Archery.  Kai will be living with the 11 and 12 year old boys.  Kai is excited to use his experience to put some new twists into his activities and in his cabin group.  Kai is a Freshman at Macalester College studying Political Science.

Christina S will be arriving to camp for her 7th year and her 2nd year as a counselor instructing in Sailing in both the JYs and Mangos and Water Skiing.  She is a Sophomore at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.  Christina will be living with the 12 and 13 year old girls.  A big thank you to Christina for the numerous hours of filming and editing of Foley’s new promotional video!  She is talented!

Krista S is counting the days before arriving for her 13th summer at Foley and her 2nd year as a counselor instructing in Windsurfing.  This summer she will live with the youngest campers for 4 weeks and bounce to the oldest girls for 4 weeks!  Krista will be working with the LITs and CITs as the Leadership Program Co-Coordinator.  She is currently a Junior at Creighton University majoring in Public Relations and Advertising.

Leslie S is finally headed back to camp after taking a few years off!  Leslie was a camper for ten summers and is now finishing up her senior year at Colgate University where she is completing a degree in Political Science!  Leslie is hoping to head to law school after camp so this is her last summer of fun! She will be helping to oversee the Swimdock and also teach Windsurfing!

Nickkiya S will be embarking on her first Minnesota summer joining us for the first time with Foley from Stafford, TX.Nikkiya is currently attending Houston Community College majoring in education.  Nikkiya is excited to get started as the Dance and Arts and Crafts instructor as well as helping out with some janitorial work.

Ali V will be a first time counselor this summer!  Ali is currently a freshman at St. Cloud State University where she is majoring in Elementary Education. This summer Ali will be heading out on the pontoon boat to catch some big fish as well as helping out in the kitchen with some Food Service.
