Each summer we have events, banquets and other special programs that are unique! This is your spot to get updates on the events that will be happening during your session.
Banquets
On the last day of each two-week session, Foley is transformed for a special theme day and meal.
1st (June 19) & 3rd (July 18) Sessions - Dr.Seuss:
You may see the Whos down in Whoville or the Zooks or the Yooks. Try your hand at Sneetchball or invent a Gazook. If you don’t know what I’m saying, you may need to read some Seuss books. Dress as the Cat in the Hat or Thing 1, 2 or 3. But what ever you do you can’t dress like me. See you for fun in Suessville for sessions one and three.
2nd (July 3) & 4th (August 1) Sessions - Roald Dahl:
Legendary author, Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s books have been staples in classrooms and libraries for generations. Dust off those cover jackets and revisit Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, The BFG and more! Our day could be spent visiting Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory, facing off against Matilda in math equations or dodging the angry farmers, Boggis, Bunce, and Bean, just like Fantastic Mr. Fox. Dress as any of the countless characters!
Grand Dance Festival
All Sessions (except the 1st 1 Week Session & Introduction Session)
Put on your dancing shoes and head to the red carpet to meet your favorite celebrity. This year our Grand Dance Festival, will have a Hollywood Theme. Dress up like your favorite celebrity or become your own. Maybe a cartoon character, singer, actor, or director. If you don’t like to dance that is okay too! Tennis, volleyball, ping pong, or even a maybe a movie will also be open to challenge a friend! We are also excited to use a new DJ stand this year at the dances!
Special Days
1st & 3rd Sessions: Little Giants Day & Flick-n-Float
Ever feel like the outsider or cast off when it comes to a sports team? Ever want to part of something that everyone thought you couldn’t do? Whether you play football like the kids in the movie, Little Giants, or instead try your hand at cheerleading, refereeing, or simply punt, pass and kick, you will get a little taste of what these kids feel - pride!
2nd & 4th Sessions: The Sandlot Day & Flick-n-Float
Ever feel like the outsider or cast off when it comes to a sports team? Ever want to be part of something that everyone thought you couldn’t do Play baseball for pride! If baseball isn’t your thing, try wiffle ball or tee ball or learn to be an umpire!
Flick-n-Float
Back for the first time in 5 years - Flick and Float. This is Foley’s version of a drive in movie. Campers and staff sit on various watercrafts (canoes, safety boats, pontoon, or dock) to watch a movie based on the theme of your special day (see above). Enjoy the cool MN night air, beautiful stars and a great movie! What could be better?
4th of July
2nd Session Only
Bring some festive Red, White and Blue to help celebrate the 4th of July!
Community 5K Races
2nd & 4th Session
We are once again participating in two 5K runs in the local community. Transportation will be provided by Camp Foley (15 minutes away from camp). Space is limited to 13 campers who will be traveling with two staff member race participants. 2nd session will have the chance to participate in Grandpa’s Race for the Walleye, and the 4th session kids may participate in the Crosslake Dam Run. The form for each race, which can be found under FORMS, has more details. Please sign up by the first day of the session. In the past, Foley campers have won age divisions, prizes and received a free t-shirt!
