East Washo Fundraiser
Help us Rebuild the East Washo!
Donate Here! – Help us reach our $600,000 goal!
Dear Brave Supporters of Hygiene and Plumbing everywhere,
We’re excited—truly, deeply, perhaps overly excited—to announce the beginning of a very important fundraising
effort: a brand-new East Washo (bathroom). Yes, you read that correctly. While some organizations aim for libraries, theaters, or grand halls, we have boldly set our sights on something equally noble: a place to… take care of business.
We built the East Washo in 1956, before girls were attending camp and when our facility was set up for less people. Since the 1990’s the East Washo has been the “Emergency Washo” with a few toilets and sinks but no showers or hot water. It housed our weight room and really took a back seat to the Mid Washo (the main boy’s end bathroom). It is time to change! Demolition of the old East Washo with a new building built in its place will offer better privacy for the East end of camp and allow us to look to future flexibility with our programming, plus new plumbing and more hot water!
You may be asking, why now? Due to underground issues with our very old plumbing, the time has come to sunset the Mid Washo in its current function. Its location is also not ideal as it is so central to other program areas with less privacy for the East end of camp. We have some fun ideas on how to continue to use the building so stay tuned for more information on the transformation of the Mid Washo.
The new East Washo will feature:

- 8 showers with attached changing spaces
- 8 stalls (no more urinals!)
- Plumbing that does more than “hope for the best”
- Two complete private bathrooms (shower, toilet, sink)
- A staff laundry room
- An outside handwashing station
- More hot water capacity (suggested by our kids)
- Updated septic system
- And, if we dare to dream, maybe even a hook for your jacket.

We know fundraising for a bathroom might not sound glamorous—but we assure you, its impact will be deeply felt… immediately… and often.
We invite you to join us in this noble cause. Your support will help us create a bathroom that is functional, welcoming, and maybe even… enjoyable? Every gift brings us one step closer to a future where the phrase “East End Washo” no longer inspires hesitation, but quiet confidence.
Together we can build a better future…one flush at a time.
With gratitude,
Alli Faricy
