Why should you spend your summer at Foley?

A summer at Camp Foley is unlike anything else that you will ever experience! Where else can you say, “I taught climbing, helped at archery, played tetherball, learned that you could eat pine needles, and packed for a trip…all before lunch!”  Let’s face it you’re not going to make a ton of money working at camp, it is the “experience” that makes up for the lower income. We are looking for people who have the patience, understanding and desire to help kids grow both emotionally and physically even if that means putting their own interests aside.  At Camp Foley, we are very intentional about creating a community and helping people better themselves in our supportive, friendly environment.

"In today's project orientated workplace, it's important to have experience working closely with small groups of people from different backgrounds. Camp Foley enhanced my small group skills in a number of areas, with opportunities for leadership, learning when to follow, and most importantly, learning to accomplish goals and have a great time with people I wouldn't have met in my normal activities." ~Rob, Technological Project Manager, Past Staff

By the end of the summer you will be a hero to at least one camper, and you’ll be remembered far beyond camp by many others.  You can make a difference in someone’s life each and every day. You will learn about yourself.  Things you thought you couldn't go without will suddenly become less important. You will have the opportunity to try new things for the first time, while living in a beautiful setting. Don’t forget the great friendships that you will make, friends that you will keep in contact with years beyond camp.

The long term benefits will stay with you for a lifetime, where else can you find an incredibly amazing job that is also a resume builder?  The camp experience will benefit any field that you decided to pursue, and it could be the difference between a good job and a great job! You will meet professionals from the field, receive specialized training and meet others with similar interests.  Think of camp as one big networking experience! Think of the things that employers are looking for; the ability to adapt to change, problem solving, good communications skills, dedication, teamwork, leadership, and hard work. You will practice those skills every day at camp!

Here are some other great reasons to join us this summer!
