Why should I send my child to Foley?

To develop independence

Where else can you send your child where they are independent of you or any other family member? At Foley, our campers make their own beds, choose their own activities, and decide what they want to do during their free time. Our campers are encouraged to think for themselves and make their own decisions. Foley counselors are always around to offer encouragement, suggestions, and guide our campers in making the best possible choices.

To increase self-esteem

Where else can you send your child where they can feel so confident in their abilities and so assured about themselves? Foley is a special place where positive qualities and attitudes are constantly stressed and emphasized. Our counselors are the cheerleaders as the campers take risks, set goals, and try new activities and challenges.

To be part of a unique community

Where else can your child be an active member of a community full of kids? It is a special community because everything is done with the camper in mind! It is a place to be silly, to have loads of fun, and to laugh often. It is a place where the directors and the counselors are able to get to know your child and identify their individual needs. It is a place where your child is an important member of the small cabin group as well as the entire camp community.

To have fun

Where else can you send your child where he or she can have so much non-stop fun? Camp is fun and Foley campers create fun! Campers come to Foley to have fun and that is what we provide. Fun is being silly with a friend. Fun is participating in crazy relays with other campers. Fun is splashing around in the lake on a warm day. Fun is having your child at Camp Foley this summer!

To be themselves

Where else can you send your child where they can be just who they want to be? There are no social pressures at camp, only encouragement and positive reinforcement. At Foley, your child is encouraged to be the best that he or she can be! They are encouraged to develop and strengthen the unique qualities that make them the unique individuals that they are.

To make new friends

Where else can you send your child where they can make so many new friends in such a short period of time? Making friends is one of the easiest things to do at camp. Your child is surrounded by other kids of the same age from all over the world! These campers want to do the same things as your child does while having as much fun as possible!

To learn

Where else can you send your child where they can learn and perfect such a wide variety of skills? Your child has the options and opportunities to experience over 30 different activities! Your child has the opportunity to develop the social skills required to become a competent adult. Your child will learn, develop, create, discover, and encounter so many new things and adventures that without going to summer camp, he or she would be missing out on the chance of a lifetime.
