... As the young spend less of their lives in natural surroundings, their senses narrow, physiologically and psychologically and this reduces the richness of human experience ... we NEED contact with nature." -- Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods
Since 1970, students from all over Minnesota have been coming to Camp Foley's Environmental Education Center to learn about the environment, conservation and local wildlife in a a natural setting. Students leave with new environmental skills and knowledge, new friendships and a greater sense of self.
The Environmental Education Center is located at Camp Foley on Lower Whitefish Lake near Crosslake, MN. It is open every spring and fall so students can witness the changing environment that comes along with these two seasons. It really is an unforgettable learning experience.
